TIER Meeting Mode
TIER Meeting Mode transforms your ProBeya board into a full-screen shopfloor display optimized for structured daily, weekly, and monthly review meetings. It provides a guided agenda flow, auto-rotating sections, large touch-friendly typography, and quick-action creation — all designed for standing meetings in front of a large screen.
What is a TIER Meeting?
In lean manufacturing and pharma operational excellence, TIER meetings are structured cascading review sessions at three organizational levels:
| Tier | Cadence | Duration | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| TIER 1 | Daily | 5-15 minutes | Shop floor: review yesterday's KPIs, address immediate issues, assign actions |
| TIER 2 | Weekly | 30-60 minutes | Department: review escalated issues, resource allocation, cross-team coordination |
| TIER 3 | Monthly | 60-90 minutes | Site/executive: strategic KPI review, capital decisions, organizational escalations |
Information flows upward through the tiers: unresolved TIER 1 issues escalate to TIER 2, and unresolved TIER 2 issues escalate to TIER 3.
Entering TIER Meeting Mode
There are three ways to activate TIER Meeting Mode:
1. Menu Button
- Open any board.
- Click the Start Meeting button in the board toolbar (monitor icon).
- The board transitions to full-screen meeting mode.
2. Keyboard Shortcut
Press F11 while viewing a board to toggle TIER Meeting Mode on or off.
The F11 shortcut first enters browser full-screen mode, then activates the TIER Meeting layout. Press F11 again (or Escape) to exit.
3. URL Parameter
Append ?mode=tier to any board URL:
https://acme.probeya.com/boards/abc123?mode=tier
This is useful for:
- Bookmarking the meeting view directly.
- Setting up a dedicated browser tab on the shopfloor display.
- Configuring digital signage systems to load the TIER meeting URL automatically.
Agenda Flow
TIER Meeting Mode follows a structured four-step agenda. The meeting facilitator advances through each step using the Next button or lets the auto-rotate timer advance automatically.
Step 1: KPIs Review
The first step displays all KPI cards for the board, organized by SQCDP category:
┌──────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ S Q C D P │
│ ┌──┐ ┌──┐ ┌──┐ ┌──┐ ┌──┐│
│ │G │ │R │ │G │ │A │ │G ││
│ │85│ │62│ │-2%│ │88│ │95││
│ └──┘ └──┘ └──┘ └──┘ └──┘│
│ LTI Rate OEE Budget Var OTD Train%│
└──────────────────────────────────────────────┘
- Each KPI shows its traffic-light status, current value, target, and trend arrow.
- Red and amber KPIs are visually emphasized with larger cards.
- Click any KPI card to see its trend chart in an overlay.
Step 2: Actions Review
The second step shows all open and in-progress actions, sorted by priority:
- Critical and high-priority actions appear at the top with larger cards.
- Overdue actions are highlighted with a red border and days-overdue badge.
- Each card shows: title, assignee, priority, due date, and status.
- Tap an action card to see its full detail and update its status.
Step 3: Escalations
The third step focuses on escalation activity:
- Pending escalations — Actions that have met the escalation trigger criteria but require manual approval.
- Recently escalated — Actions that were auto-escalated since the last meeting.
- De-escalated items — Actions returned from a higher tier with decisions or resources.
Each escalation entry shows the escalation chain: "TIER 1 (3 days overdue) → TIER 2."
Step 4: New Items
The final step is for capturing new items identified during the meeting:
- A prominent + Quick Action button is centered on screen.
- The quick-action form includes: title, assignee (person picker), priority, and category.
- New actions are created at the current board's TIER level.
- Previously entered items during this meeting session are listed below the form.
Auto-Rotate Timer
The auto-rotate feature advances through the four agenda steps on a configurable timer:
| Setting | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|
| KPIs Review | 60 seconds | 15-300 seconds |
| Actions Review | 90 seconds | 15-300 seconds |
| Escalations | 60 seconds | 15-300 seconds |
| New Items | 120 seconds | 15-300 seconds |
Configuring Auto-Rotate
- In TIER Meeting Mode, click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Adjust the duration per step using the slider or number input.
- Toggle Auto-Rotate on or off.
- Click Save.
When auto-rotate is active, a progress bar at the top of the screen shows the remaining time before the next step. Click anywhere on the progress bar to pause/resume.
For short TIER 1 daily meetings, set aggressive timers (30s per step) to keep the meeting moving. For longer TIER 2/3 reviews, extend the timers or disable auto-rotate and advance manually.
Meeting Timer
A visual countdown timer tracks the overall meeting duration:
- Green (>50% remaining) — Meeting is on track.
- Amber (25-50% remaining) — Halfway through; pick up the pace.
- Red (<25% remaining) — Time is almost up; wrap up discussions.
- Pulsing red with audio chime — Timer expired; meeting has gone over.
The default timer durations match the TIER hierarchy:
| Tier | Default Timer |
|---|---|
| TIER 1 | 15 minutes |
| TIER 2 | 30 minutes |
| TIER 3 | 60 minutes |
Quick Action Creation
During TIER meetings, capturing new actions must be fast and frictionless. The quick-action form is designed for this:
- Click + Quick Action (available in any agenda step, prominent in Step 4).
- A minimal form appears with four fields:
| Field | Input Method | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Free text (focus auto-set here) | — |
| Assignee | Person picker (avatar grid) | None |
| Priority | One-click toggle: Critical / High / Medium / Low | Medium |
| Category | One-click toggle: S / Q / C / D / P | Auto-detected from current section |
- Press Enter or click Create to save immediately.
- The action appears in the session's new items list.
- The form resets for the next entry.
Touch-Friendly Workflow
The quick-action flow is optimized for the meeting facilitator standing at the screen:
- Large touch targets — All buttons and inputs are at least 48px in height, with action buttons at 56px.
- Minimal taps — Only the title requires typing; assignee, priority, and category can be tapped.
- Keyboard shortcut — Press
Non any step to open the quick-action form.
Display Characteristics
TIER Meeting Mode is optimized for large shopfloor displays (40-75 inch screens) viewed from 2-5 meters:

Meeting Session Tracking
Each TIER Meeting Mode activation creates a session record:
- Start time — When the meeting mode was entered.
- End time — When the meeting mode was exited.
- Duration — Total meeting time.
- Actions created — Count and list of actions created during the session.
- KPIs reviewed — Which KPIs were viewed during the meeting.
- Participants — If attendance is tracked, the list of participants.
This data feeds into meeting analytics: "Are our TIER 1 meetings staying under 15 minutes?" or "How many actions are created per meeting on average?"
