Link Hub
Link Hub is ProBeya's built-in link management and QR code platform. It lets teams create branded short links, generate scannable QR codes, organize links into folders, and analyze engagement through detailed click analytics — all without leaving the platform.
In operational transformation contexts, Link Hub is especially valuable for connecting physical assets to digital dashboards. A QR code on a machine can link directly to its KPI board, maintenance checklist, or standard operating procedure.
Overview
Link Hub solves the problem of managing and tracking the many URLs that transformation teams share across boards, documents, training materials, and physical signage. Instead of scattering links across emails and chat messages, teams centralize them with tracking and organization.
Getting Started
- Navigate to Link Hub from the workspace menu.
- Click + Create Link.
- Paste the destination URL and optionally customize the short code.
- Add a title, tags, and UTM parameters for campaign tracking.
- Click Save — the short link is ready to share.
How It Works
Short Links
Each link gets a unique short code (auto-generated 6-character alphanumeric, or custom). The redirect endpoint /go/{code} resolves the code and redirects the visitor to the destination URL.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Destination URL | The target URL visitors are redirected to |
| Short Code | Unique identifier (3-30 chars, alphanumeric, dashes, underscores) |
| Title | Human-readable name for the link |
| Description | Optional longer description (up to 2,000 chars) |
| Tags | Array of tags for filtering and organization |
| Folder | Optional folder for grouping related links |
| Expiry Date | Optional date after which the link stops working |
| Password | Optional password protection for the destination |
| UTM Parameters | Campaign tracking: source, medium, campaign, term, content |
Links support dynamic mode (default) where the destination URL can be changed after creation without breaking existing QR codes or shared URLs.
Bulk Creation
Import up to 100 links at once using the bulk create endpoint. Each link in the batch receives an auto-generated unique short code. This is useful for creating links for a list of training resources or document libraries.
QR Code Generation
Generate a QR code for any link with customizable size (64-1024 pixels). The QR code encodes the short URL (e.g., https://app.probeya.com/go/abc123), so scanning it triggers the redirect with full analytics tracking.
QR codes are returned as SVG data URLs for inline display and can be downloaded for printing on physical signage, machine labels, or training materials.
Folders
Organize links into hierarchical folders. Folders support nesting (parent-child relationships) and custom sort order. Filter the link list by folder to focus on a specific category.
Click Analytics
Every link click is recorded with detailed metadata for analysis:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Daily Clicks | Time-series of total clicks and unique visitors per day |
| Top Countries | Geographic distribution of clicks (top 10) |
| Device Breakdown | Mobile vs. desktop vs. tablet distribution |
| Browser Stats | Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera breakdown |
| OS Distribution | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS breakdown |
| Top Referrers | Which sites are driving traffic to your links (top 10) |
| QR Scans | Clicks flagged as QR scans for physical-digital attribution |
Analytics support date-range filtering to compare performance across periods. Unique visitors are tracked via a visitor hash (IP + user agent fingerprint) without storing personally identifiable information.
Configuration
Link Status
Links can be toggled between active and inactive. Inactive links return a 404 instead of redirecting, without deleting the link or its analytics history.
Custom Domains
Link Hub supports custom domains for branded short URLs. Configure domains at the organization level to replace the default app.probeya.com/go/ prefix.
Permissions
- Workspace Members can create, view, and manage their own links
- Workspace Admins can manage all links, folders, and domains within the workspace
- Organization Admins have full access across all workspaces and domains
Tips & Best Practices
Use UTM parameters on links shared in different channels (email, chat, signage) to track which distribution method drives the most engagement.
Print QR codes on equipment labels that link directly to the machine's KPI dashboard or maintenance checklist. This bridges the physical-digital gap in your Obeya room.
Set expiry dates on links for time-limited campaigns (e.g., training enrollment periods) so they automatically stop redirecting when the campaign ends.
